Akal Takht alters meeting schedule, Punjab CM readies to come at original time

In a bizarre turn of events, Akal Takht’s officiating Jathedar, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, rescheduled a meeting with Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann at Akal Takht Secretariat, citing the CM’s prior appointments. However, the CM clarified via X that he was ready to attend at the original 10 am time on January 15. On January 5, the Jathedar summoned the CM to Akal Takht Secretariat at 10 am on January 15 to clarify allegations of insulting Sikh principles and institutions through his conduct in the past. The Akal Takht Secretariat later sent a letter changing the meeting time to 4.30 pm, citing the CM’s prior appointments. The CM responded, “I have no appointment on January 15. I have conveyed this to the Office of the President. January 15, as per your orders, was fully devoted to Akal Takht Saheb. No official intimation about changing the time from me or my office was released. I am ready to come humbly at 10 am’.
